Call for Applications: Four ways to elevate your participatory program

Improving the engagement of women, youth, and displaced people in participatory decision-making OR
Mainstreaming high-quality and inclusive public participation practices in government?
Apply to our Accelerator programs today to receive comprehensive capacity-building support to solve pressing challenges with high-quality, inclusive public participation practices. Selected participants will receive free access to online training, expert mentoring and advice, and international peer-learning opportunities to launch or improve a participatory program.
Additionally, Climate Democracy Accelerator participants will receive up to $30,000 in funding support for implementing their programs! Selected participants for the Inclusive Democracy Accelerator and Mainstreaming Participation Accelerator will join an in-person workshop in Nairobi, Kenya, in April 2025. Climate Democracy Accelerator (CDA): To help governments engage community members in deciding how to respond to the climate crisis.
Eligibility: global applicants — those in G20 countries are strongly encouraged to apply.
Mainstreaming Participation Accelerator (MPA): To help government reformers mainstream or embed fit-for-purpose, high-quality, inclusive public participation practices across key government sectors, processes, and institutions.
Eligibility: global applicants — those in Latin America, Africa, Asia, or Eastern Europe are strongly encouraged to apply.
Inclusive Democracy Accelerator (IDA): To help governments and civil society organizations engage youth, women, and displaced people more effectively in participatory decision-making.
Eligibility: applicants in Latin America, Africa, Asia, or Eastern Europe only.
Democratic Innovations Accelerator (DIA): To help governments engage community members using innovative participatory approaches.
Eligibility: applicants in the European Union and Horizon Europe countries only.
What is the timeline?
October 8–December 1, 2024: Deadline extended! Applications are open until December 1, 11:59 pm UTC (check your timezone here).
January 2025: Selected participants are notified.
February–March 2025: Due diligence and onboarding.
March 2025: Program begins.
August 2025: Program ends.
August–September 2025: Participants share learnings.
September 2025–August 2026: Participants implement their action plan.
