Find out what 2025 has in store for our community
/Happy Holidays!
Each year, People Powered members worldwide decide our top priorities, through a process we call People Powered Decides, then we turn these priorities into action. Everything we’ve accomplished so far (see our Impact Report) is the result of this bottom-up decision-making. This year, our members prioritized activities for 2025, elected new board members, and decided new policies. We’re thrilled to share the results with you below!
In the spirit of giving, will you contribute to this work by joining People Powered as a member or making an end-of-year donation, if you haven’t already?
Member priorities
Our members voted to allocate $100,000 from our budget to a few key priorities:
Providing new guidance on the challenges and opportunities of artificial intelligence for participation
Developing new resources to support democracy and participatory practices in schools
Incorporating People Powered in Europe and Latin America to reflect the global nature of our organization, and raising funds to support our collective work in these regions
New board members
Our members voted to elect five new board members: Colombina Schaeffer (Chile). Donata Secondo (USA), Kudzaiishe Seti (Zimbabwe/South Africa), Reema Patel (United Kingdom), and Srikanth Viswanathan (India).
Learn more about them and the strengths they're bringing to People Powered.
What’s next in 2025
We’re working on exciting plans for 2025:
Artificial Intelligence: We will support effective and ethical use AI for participation
Inclusion: We will defend marginalized communities’ right to participation
Counteracting oppression: We will amplify democracy in closing spaces
Climate democracy: We will support community-led climate action
Community: We will come together at the People Powered 2025 Convening in Nairobi.
The next year will be critical for our work. Will you show your support, by joining as a member or making an end-of-year donation?
See you in 2025!!!
