Strengthening Democracy Through School Participatory Budgeting

Are you interested in School Participatory Budgeting? join this online conference that looks into what School Participatory Budgeting (PB) looks like in the context of Central and Eastern Europe and what challenges and best practices we should be aware of.

This conference brings to a close the shared project Visegrad Youth Participates delivered by People Powered members, Participation Factory (CZ), Alternatív Közösségek Egyesülete (HU), and Fundacja Pole Dialogu (PL) funded by Visegrad Fund. Three main ideas would be discussed:

  • Creating the space for School PB;

  • Systematizing school PB on a City-Level;

  • Going beyond school PB.

The online conference will be held on February 27th, 2024 from 8 to 11 AM ET / 2 to 5pm CET.

Topics covered include:

  • Presentation of the School PB status quo and our findings on creating the space for School PB, systematizing it, and going beyond it. (Delivered in English)

  • Interactive workshop on key challenges and barriers to School Participatory Budgeting, expanding its reach, ensuring its sustainability, and exploring gradual progression towards a broader youth engagement (Delivered in English, Czech, Hungarian, and Polish.)
